New handmade dress for Barbie

Recently I have been working in the manufacturing of new designs for Barbie as it relaxes me and help me to control my stress. After some hours of work I got my first example and here I want it to be shown for you. I hope you like it!

I created a long dress with spring inspiration and a princess style. After the sewing I decorated it with some purple flowers as belt.

I added some "pearls" as earrings and I modified an old crown to make her look as a proper princess, but my favorite part was the results of the hairdressing. Check it out! I inspired myself in Star Wars style of Leila and Amidala.

Hope you like it!

Anastasia (second part)

News for Anastasia!! To see the story of the doll and her first changes click Here:

I have taken her blue dress made from an old headband and I have glittered it in blue and silver color. I also have added glitter to the globs and I have rearranged her hair in order to make it look like a proper princess one! As the original shape of it is very weird I have used styling gel and hairspray to fix it in one place :) It is not good to use too much of that type of products in a doll's hair, as it can get unrecoverable in a long period, specially if we desire to change the look after some time. But in the case of Anastasia, as it is weirdly created and the original look was like that, I decided to risk a little bit.
New necklace imitating pearls and that is all! She looks stunning now. The only thing to add: the shoes, but they are in the way.

Check it out!

Hope you like it!

Barbie Esmeralda

This time I will show you Esmeralda. She is also from the 90's and as normally I bought her on ebay.
She was already clean and nice, only with a very messy hair that I fixed with water, shampoo, a conditioner and lot of brushing.
I put an arrow on her pendant, as the original was lost, taken from one of my old nose arrows and I did the same for her bracelet.

That is how she looked when I bought her:

That is how she looks now :D <3

I created the crown with one my rings, just dissimulating it with the hair on the top and linking the ring to the head with a thin purple band.

I hope you like her!!

Little Mermaid 1997

That is without a doubt my favorite barbie ever. I love the happiness of her face and her long red hair. I had it when I was a kid but after lot of years I lost it. Once I was living already in England, as it is very easy to find vintage barbies on ebay, I went for her.
It is a pity that she did not have her original clothes so for a long time she has been with other doll's mermaid clothes (one of those fake cheap barbies). The other day I decided to create a provisional dress inspired in mermaids while I design her future unique mermaid tale. Wanna have a look?

I will show you soon her new mermaid outfit!

Megara

This beauty is from 1996, a doll that I remember to be in all little girls hands. I bought her on ebay last week for only 8 pounds. She was in very good conditions but her hair was a real mess so I decided to rescue it and prepare her for the display.

This is how she looked before:

She was very dirty, like she has been exposed to humidity for lot of years.
I clean her and her clothes deeply and I prepared her hair with shampoo, lot of brushing (she lost lot of hair but that was good at the end) and I used hair conditioner of argan with more brushing.
After that I used some clips to enroll part of her hair in order to make it a bit curly after.

When she was already dry I used hairspray and styling gel, inspiring in the original doll look and that was the result.

Anastasia ( first part)

She is not mattel, but I am collecting the princesses of the cartoon movies and I found her naked on ebay for only 3 pounds. As princess Anastasia has always been one of my favorite movies I decided to buy her and restore her. She still needs more work on her dress, to have a proper necklace and some new shoes. But that is how she looks now and how she did before.

BEFORE

As you see, her hair was pretty good and she also was pretty clean. Because of her eye-shadows in pink I knew she is the version of the blue dress and as it is very easy to create I went for that option.
I restored her hair a little bit with the method I will post later but she did not need much work on it. After that I painted the globs with white polish nails and I created the dress with some old fabrics that I had at home.  I also put some pearl pendants with superglue and that was the result!

AFTER

She even look happier!!
What do you think about the change?
